See you later 135i!!!

Well, it was fun while it lasted...But, I had to take advantage of the 'trunk' money that was being thrown at all of the new 2008 BMW M3's left in the U.S. 650 miles later (that's how far I had to go to get it--out of state); I am the proud owner of a Alpine White, fully loaded, M3 sedan for $14,000 off MSRP! Manual of course...

The 135i was an awesome car, don't get me wrong. But the M3 is UNBELIEVABLE....UNBFRIGGINLIEVABLE!!! If you haven't had the chance to experienced the 420HP V8--don't, because getting back into the 135i will never be the same.

See you guys! Have to move forums, see you on the track!

I drove a 420 Audi RS4 a few months before I picked up my 135i. Your aboslutly right. A 400+ HP stick is something to be tried at least once in life. Glad I did not end up buying that car. Could have had it for 55K. I'm in enough trouble right now with my 300HP 1er...friggin speeding ticket...

Congrats. If they had been doing those kind of deals on them when I was shopping, I'd probably be driving one right now. It's a great car.

All I keep reading is the lack of low-end torque. What do you think now that you have a M3?

Well, so far -- so good. I have only had the car for 4 days and have only managed 500 miles. So, because I plan on having this one for a while; I am honoring the break-in period. So, nothing over 5,500 RPM -- Tough to keep off the throttle; but I can surely say that the lack of torque (300 not bad really...) will be errased with the massive RPM load that this F-1 V8 engine can produce. I can 'feel' the car wanting to leap into action; can't wait to try it out as GOD intended!

Keep you posted...

The V8 in the M3 shares a few things in common with the BMW F1 V8 including design & manufacturing processes I believe. Would be great if it sounded like an F1 haha!

Yup same here. I think I bought too early. Definitely would be in a M3 now. I have thought about trading the 135i in for M3 but current it doesn't make sense. I might as well save up and go for the GTR next. How much did they pay for your 135i, btw?

Hard to hold it against you for such a great deal on such a great car. I think I'd look at it too if it was that price.

What does it have to do with how far it can go on a tank of gas? If it is about MPG either car is not a gas miser. MPG is not the first consideration for anyone that buys a 135i or M3.

My MPG's on my 1 suck because I drive it like I stole it all the time!

I know what he means about a V8. My last car was a SRT-8 and that 6.1L was a beast. I do miss that sometimes. But, I love the instant torque and acceleration of the 1. My next car will be a used M3... unless the 1 gets better in 2011!

that S65 doesn't really even come alive until above 6500RPM, just wait until you can actually drive it and experience the sound of an 8400RPM V8. that's an incredible deal you got, congrats.
