128i power box issues

Im having an issue with a service light that comes on when starting... If I select the map then start there is no issue... Any ideas ?

u sure it is all connected properly?

You need to retrace the steps on the install. It's probably just a mixed wire or something since your car stills starts and all.

If you just installed it, do as above... retrace the connections.. espically where you slide the male pin in the fe-male pin and secure with tape..

Personally i found to put a little arch to the male pin so that it fits snug in the female pin..

yeah yeah i know...it sounds real perverted..LOL

What everyone else says... it is a mixed wire or something along the lines of user error when installing. Shouldn't take more than thirty minutes to fix it. Make sure you test it before you put everything back in.

If the light turns on and then off when you start, that is normal for an unmodified car. If it comes on and stays on, then you need to read the code with an OBDII reader and from that can determine which wire is misplaced, etc.

Thanks for the input guys !! So today i drove it to work the light came on and by the time i drove to work it was gone... The light never came back today. I'm going to check the wires tonight and go from there as of now its working !

Cool, but just make sure not to take the light turning off for granted. Retrace to be safe

I retraced everything and everything was good the light disappeared..
