Nope!
Car is a beauty. As for those who say "this is not an M". Stop. Just stop. It may not be the M you want, or expected, or hoped for. But the fact is, it was developed, engineered and tested by M. It IS AN M, people. Last edited by PyratOne; 12-09-2010 at 07:57 PM.. Reason: spelling |

I voted yes purely because my expectations were increased because of the rumours, hints at spec from forums (CF roof, CSL trunk lid, hood bulge etc).
However I think the car is stunning to look at as it is. I am also very slightly disappointed by the power of the engine however I have every faith that 340bhp is just a number and the way the car delivers that power and handles it will far outway those doubts. I just hope it doesn't work out too expensive. |

Disappointed now that the 1M is released? No.
Because my disappointed with some key specs came months ago. Many at that time said 'wait for the final specs". The full reveal hasn't come with any exciting new, previously unknown or unanticipated details or specs. |

I voted to wait for the reviews but I am not surprised but a little disappointed. Logic says the 1M has to be a parts bin car. The volume BMW can reasonably expect to sell would not justify a bunch of engineering. So you use the is engine (I hoped for at least a token bump up in power), restyle it some, and put what appears to be a better suspension under it. The rear end is clearly that of the DCT M3. Front is presumably also from the M3. Those are good parts.
I really do not care for a fake brake vent on the front fender. That is the worst thing I see in the styling. It looks like the back vent might be functional - it is at least as not obviously fake - but a front vent would be a lot more useful (on the track). Otherwise the styling looks more muscular and appropriate for a M car. I kind of expected a parts bin car but I was hoping for a little more. Now we need to see if the sum is greater than, equal to, or less than the parts. Jim

Right now that only thing that could disappoint me is if the 1M is not offered through BMW Military Sales.

Not dissapointed but not really thrilled. I do understand that this is a out of the bin parts car. Which isnt a terrible thing. But like I said, I like the fact that the M3 is engineered to be the M3. Not simply taking parts off of other cars here and there. If this thrilled me I would have switched my order from an M3 to an 1M. And dont worry Drillslinger, you will just have to get the military M3 purchase. Its probably a better deal anyway.

Ok, I've seen TwinPower (twin-scroll single) in the catalog, and twin turbo in the press release.
Which is it really? If it is a single, I hope it has higher flow capacity than the N55 turbo. |

Actually it is the first time I have ever made mention of it, this is the "are you disappointed thread" is it not?
I could see your post being valid in one of the other threads; however being this thread was created for people to express criticism and disappointment (not by me I might add), maybe you should be more open to the topic. Besides... it is just a mild criticism on the name, just saying they didn't call the 335is the 3M despite the fact it seems to have the same engine tune and features. |

It may be the first time that you've mentioned it. But it a teed and invalid argument. I'm not going to say why but disappointment has to be tangeble. Saying a car developed by M GmHb is not an M and called a 135is is an intangible argument and quite frankly is dumb. Say why you are disappointed ^in it.
Is it the LSD? The widebody? It's proberby the engine. Hense the is comment but that isn't a valid point ecause an M is more than the sum of it's parts. The N54 is a good engine, and you should actually say what your beef is with it. I don't like the torque drop after 6k...that is a valid disappointment. It's like saying George Bush wasn't your president because you didn't agree with his policies. The fact is he was your president just as the 1M is an M car Quote:
