Ford 8.8 lsd kit
Is anyone going this route? Since i have an automatic and bolted diff and im about to put down alot of power im getting a 6hp28 diesel trans with the guru autoworks conversion kit. And i been reading about this ford 8.8 kit also. I only budgeted $2k for mfactory lsd and axels. This kit is more than twice my budget. Yikes!! But ive been reading alot about it and it seems worth it. Ive also seen axel failures and issues with other lsd/axel combos. So im still on the fence. Can always get an mfactory lsd and some different axels.
But this setup makes my trans and rear bulletproof and then i only have to worry about blowing up my engine lol. |

If I were you I would go the 8.8 route since there is no question it hold. You dumped a lot of money in that car why stop now? LOL
I know the guys throwing the 8.8 in the first gen Cts-v love them. These guys have just about what you need. https://www.seemslegitgarage.com/shop Also with the power your plan on making I don't think the gear ratio is going to be an issue. |

Stock axles can be had for $50 from salvage yards. how many stocks does it take to pay for the 8.8 swap?
But the axles that break tend to be manuals. It's the sudden loading that snaps them. Auto's how more consistent loading and don't have as big of an issue. Also when you change too many things at once it becomes very hard to diagnose problems. |
