Pic request: CF mirror caps

Can someone take a up close pic of their OEM BMW CF mirror caps? The portion I am most concerned with is the top section and where it connects. Once I see a couple of pics I will post WHY I am concerned. Thanks!

Which Caps are you talking about.. all the ones that people are selling that stick on or the performance one that clips on.. there is a huge difference.

Some pictures can be seen here on page 1 & 3 (not mine). Not sure if it's at the angle you want

No you don't need to wait. I have a problem with mine and I think it is from the original installation. There is a "pad" - for lack of a better word - that goes underneath the OEM CF mirrors. Mine has showed between the CF cap and the mirror housing...

That is odd. Mine are perfect so I would say that's an install issue.

Did they start off with the pad hanging out like that, or have they shifted???

Both...LOL...more and more is starting to show so I am really concerned now. I was one of the first to have them so I thought it was the way there supposed to be (was a looot less showing then). I have to look for a OEM CF DIY install to see where the issue lies I guess.

Very weird that you bring this up. I had the EXACT same problem and noticed just like you that more and more was sticking out over time. Finally just took the caps off, realized that the "pad" was just a bit of cloth tape, readjusted them so that they lined up nicely with the edge, and haven't had a problem since.

I did not do the original install, but I just watched the DIY video and am fairly confident I can fix it tomorrow with the video's help. Thanks for the feedback on it. Hopefully this thread will help someone else out too.
