Trade in 2013 135i; 6800 miles

My 2013 135i has only 6800 miles on it; I've never taken it to red-line, don't drive it in the winter (park it in my garage and drive a second car when it snows), and don't even park it next to another car. White with performance package, garage opener, and clear mask. Audi dealer offering only $29,000 for trade-in to 2015 Audi S3. Is this a fair trade-in price? One owner--me; I'm 73 years old and not exactly a hot-rod maniac.

Depends what price they are selling the Audi for. I'd say it's pretty close for trade in but you could get more with a private party sale for sure

I think is kind of low I paid ~26 for a 2012 with 30k miles.

From of a dealer, it's great. You can sell it private party for a couple thousand more, but in the long run won't leave a dent.

Take the trade and enjoy the s3.

It does seem fair. What you need to focus on is how much you'll pay on top of the trade. Since the S3 is new, and most likely, in demand you probably won't get much of a discount on msrp. As a starting point, try msrp minus 7% and less your trade. Best of luck!

i'd keep it. the S3 is not nearly going to be as entertaining, IMO! A significant step down, really!

Sales Tax in Denver =7.62%

In Colorado, sales tax on vehicle transactions is only figured on the difference between trade-in price given and total new vehicle price, plus any add-ons.

So, the $29,000+$2,200 in sales tax "savings"=$31,200. You need to sell it for more than that to come out ahead. I'd keep the 135i too.
