remove steptronic steering wheel paddles?

Has anyone replaced a paddle steering wheel with a non-paddle steering wheel? Does it throw any error codes due to missing paddles?

the reason to do it could be to replace a paddle sport wheel with an M sport or M3 wheel w/o paddles. Paddle wheels are cheaper, and more importantly, paddles can get in the way on track driving, and they since they obviously move around so much on the track, they aren't very usefull anyway. That's why Ferrari puts them on the steering column. Slushboxes also fail quicker if you give them too many external inputs...

btw, care to enlighten us on the exact definintion of what "wtf" means???
