Need Help Retrofitting M Dead Pedal

I have the stock dead pedal in the car. I bought the M Dead Pedal to replace it. From what i can tell i believe i should just rip out my current dead pedal and replace it with this dead pedal. I tried to rip it out but it didn't seem very easy so i decided to make sure that's what im supposed to do before getting too nasty with it. Here are the parts, any advice would be helpful....
