Priming fuel pump

Hi,

Is there a way to prime the fuel pump without starting the car? On keyed cars, generally you turn to "on" without cranking and the fp will prime if needed.

is there a similar thing to do for this sort of ignition?

Thanks!

Insert the key fob and press the ignition button without touching the clutch or brake when you enter the car should do the same thing as if turning a car to the "on" position with a regular key.

or get the newest software update and when the car wakes, it'll prime the shit out of the fuel system.

Sadly, I've done that religiously since getting my car Jan 26th, but at 3881 miles, I've started getting long cranks on just cold starts. So you know what that means! Doesn't hurt to follow the pre-ignition routine, but not sure it helps either. 2010 Nov 09 build.

Is that the mechanical winding noise I hear every time I unlock my car? If so, then why does it also do it when I lock the car for the night?

It's quite annoying actually. My car sounds like a transformer even when I go to unlock the boot. What does it think I wanna do, climb in through the boot and into the driver's seat?

But yes OP, insert keyfob, feet off the pedals and press the ignition button so the electronics come on.
