’09 135i Orginal Pads/Rotors 33k mls

Hello 1ers

I’ve searched and searched but can’t find any specific answers. So thank you in advance for any insight and recommendations.

Car is currently at an indy and they have stated my pads and rotors are fine 70% and 60% remaining life F/R.

But, the issue I have is over past few months and she’s not driven much lately, but the pads rest on the rotor and can hear the rub as you drive.

So, should I request the shop to brake (hehe) down the calipers and clean/inspect and replace the expanding spring? I don’t know what IT exactly does, but the spring by definition, sounds like it help it -

Items they stated are need of repair: my abs and reduced braking came on recently -

- left front wheel speed sensor bad sensor
- Control arm bushings worn causing wheels to shift and jolt when braking (I thought this we due to the brakes in general)
- GDI Induction Service recommended
- alignment

My AC isn’t the coldest anymore - $340 to refill test for leaks - not sure I’ll do this just yet.

Big thanks again - I don’t want the pads to keep resting on the rotors…

Help me - Obi-1er Kenobi... You're my only hope

Most of the items listed seem pretty sensible. Getting the calipers cleaned out will allow the spring to pull the pads back away from the disc. If they can replace the spring as well may be worth it. Control arms of OEM quality aren't too expensive (check FCP Euro) and do wear out over time.

The GDI service is normal for an N54, but unless you're having misfires etc it is a preventative maintenance

The air con leak...that seems expensive to test for leaks, but if it's an evap core, that's going to be expensive. That's a common problem on these cars (and E90s etc).

Big thanks!

Typo on AC - $240

Advisor stated with the anti-lock out of whack with the left front wheel sensor being bad, he thinks it will return to normal once corrected.

DMTL (diagnostic module for tank leakage) system fault was also present. I’ve smelled gas every now and again, so it’s being replace as well.

Thanks for the input!
