PFC Rear Pads are too small

I recently picked up these rear pads (https://www.bimmerworld.com/PFC-Rear...pound-396.html) for my 128 and the ears seem way to small, like the just float in the caliper. I have heard from others that they fit fine but I dont see how this is correct or safe. Any ideas if maybe I am missing something or if this is others experience as well?

I'm running same pad 396 pad shape in the rear, both PFC Z for autox/street and 08 for track. I've used up half of the 08s at 5 track events this year, probably need to order a backup set before my next track day.

Couple of quick pics of the rear, sorry for the blurry one. They are loose and I put plenty of grease on them. The 08s do tend to rattle in the rear after cooking them at the track.

LOL, sorry, I suppose technically it's a lubricant.

"Permatex 80653 Silicone Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant"

I’ve got the same problem. I got my PFC08s from BW and they are indeed too small for the caliper. Only time I feel/hear it though is when I back up, it catches and if you don’t know it’s from the pads, you would think you broke a control arm or something back there bec of the snap and rattle. I guess we can use E36 pads too but then again I’m not sure it’s any better as I haven’t used those. PFC08s though are AMAZING on track. Dust is per usual, but bite is direct and predictable. I hope you enjoy it Phloozy !

They were really good, nothing crazy better than the st43 but I'm happy with them. We will see how they wear

It's frustrating when things like that don't fit well. It may be normal, and they may work, but it is still frustrating.
