EBC brake pads (can't get them installed)

I'm having a real hard time installing EBC red brake pads on my 135i's front calipers. What exactly am I supposed to do when I set them into the caliper? Push on the spring then align guide pins? If so, then something isnt right, because I've been at this too long now. (2 hours)

Yes sir. I took out the pins and they fit in perfectly. No noise either.

How do you like the EBC Red Stuff pads? I have them on my 128i (with 3SIM and software and the performance brake kit) and found that the bedding process was a bit scary by the 8th brake application. Now, granted, I'll likely never need to get the pads that hot for street driving (no track/autocross), but the fade was, uh, pronounced.

FWIW, EBC really tried to talk me into Yellow Stuff, but I wanted lower dusting pads. They base their recommendation on the vehicle hp - probably having to do with how quickly you can get up to speed (and then need to brake again).

I have not had any issues with the intended application as a daily driving pad, combined with slotted/drilled rotors front and rear.
