Speed among other cars. Real Bad.
Speed in the open away from traffic. Your choice.
Use your mobile to text or without hands free anytime. Stupid and dangerous.
Drink drive anytime anywhere. Never acceptible.

Dobbing in any dangerous (and I mean real danger, not government hype) driving is a civic duty, not the act of a vigilante.

Lets face it, I would very quickly call the cops if I saw a bikie gang beating up someone, but I wouldn't if I saw them taking a leak in an alley.
There are some illegal activities that are unacceptable and some that really aren't that bad.
I get worried that anyone would think that drink driving fell into the category of "not that bad".

Just so you know, not having a go at you! But I personally hate pigs (specially traffic cops) Most of them don't know traffic law well enough to enforce it, makes me rage

And when a fellow "spirited driver" help pigs out, I just had to vent

Neer mistake Highway Patrol for policemen. There are some very hard working police out there who keep the community safe and I have nothing but good good love for them.

Highway Patrol? They work for the ATO.

Thanks all, just glad this guy was caught.

I mentioned to one of the cops that there's nothing like a vigilante, and he said he wished more people would do it!

Definitely Tay 2, drink drivers 0. God forbid if that ever becomes more than 0 to anyone
Hmmm, what if they weren't drunk and then u just wasted precious police resources on your hunch? Drunk drivers are a menace, but people shouldn't try and be heroes... You following them is probably more likely to cause an accident.

Go and join the police force if you want to catch drunk drivers, or rather just go about minding your own business IMO.
And what if they were drunk, I didn't call and they caused an accident?

I certainly do go about my own life. But if someone's driving drunk and risking everyone else's life, I'm certainly not going to stand by and let it go. I'll call the police so at least they know what to look for.

In this case I was asked a few questions, and told to stay on the line. I was then thanked for what I did. Coming from the people who are paid to do the job, I am one hundred per cent sure I did the right thing.

But then again, you're obviously happy for drunk drivers to roam free without having the police made aware of what's going on.

For everyone who missed why Tay posted the tread, here's the reminder. There was a recent incident where I chose to do nothing while I should have called the police, and I severely regretted my decision.

I support Tay 100% here. How would you feel if the next morning someone was killed due to that driver is still on the road?

There is altogether a lack of respect and courtesy on the roads. Alcohol serves to increase the risk of road traffic accidents.

Having worked in a major trauma centre and now as an anaesthetist, it is entirely acceptable to over call in such scenarios where the outcome is potentially catastrophic, because to under call would be to ignore an opportunity to save a fellow motorist's life.

How could any responsible citizen even consider criticising the action taken by Taymaishu?

Its true, heard it from a law student.

Although the police try to trick you in to it and then they can charge you if you fail the test.

As of this month you can also run(on foot) from them, as long as you dont hear them place you under arrest, so he wouldnt even need to be on his property lol, just fit with bad hearing.

This is in NSW btw.

I'm not hating the action he took, good on him, he took a drunk driver off the road which surely is a great thing.

What I think most people are hating is

a) He needed to post his efforts on this forum in a clear reach for attention and clarification that he is indeed a model citizen that doesn't do any wrong

which brings us to

b) He has clearly showed he has and will drive dangerously on public roads which endangers the public, the same thing in which he called the police to stop someone else doing!
