135i convertible A-Pillar rattle fix?
Hey There, I have a 2008 135i convertible and the passenger a-pillar cover rattle has become unbearable, so I was wondering if anyone has removed the cover and fixed the rattle and how they went about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have the same problem on my 08 vert passenger side although that would be your drivers side (right hand drive in Australia). Would appreciate any ideas as well. I have attempted to fix this by using a cable tie and pushing it into the gap were the A pillar meets the dash, it hasnt solved the problem but is a lot better to the point the rattle only occurs on very bumpy or corrergated roads.

Remove the "A" pillar, comes off easy after you pull out the black molding. Make sure everything is tight under it, and then drive around with a friend listening for the noise with a can of WD-40. Light spray, reinstall Pillar, push in molding, and you should be good to go.

I'll look at it this weekend and try to remove it. From the noise level of the rattle, I would assume that some sort of foam layer would be the best solution, so I'll post a follow up once I've decided the best course of action. Thanks for the responses.

yeah, I finally looked at them this weekend and simply stuck a small regular screwdriver under the top of the cover and it popped right out, then I just put some masking tape over the holes and also around the two removeable clips to keep them from rattling, then I reinstalled the cover and no more noise. I can't believe how easy it was or I would have done it months ago...
