My N51 has been completely reliable. No noisy waste gates, no bad turbos, no broken charge pipe, no noisy lifters, and no oil leaks. It also has a 15 year / 150,000 mile warranty on the emissions equipment.

I think having to catalysts make the car spend more gas over time. |

27.5mpg with mine.
Sometimes I drive hard and other times casually. 43K on mine so still somewhat new but the engine is very strong reliability wise.

Are you sure that your average 27.5. I've done road trips over 400miles with cruise control the max I got was 24MPG Last edited by 128ibro; 07-15-2018 at 01:57 AM.. |

Honestly, i did not get that classics I6 BMW NA engine to be babied, i drive it "properly" and see 10.3l/100kms. Especially where i live, way too many curves not to enjoy...or the Germany Autobahn When driving back home from a trip, i set the cruise control to 120kph and the OBC indicated 695km of fuel left. |

When had my 128i on the A7, and had the cruise control set at 225 kph, the consumption was a lot more than 10.3l/100kms.

I take the miles driven on my trip-meter and divide it by the gallons pumped when I have a full tank. I coast in gear to red lights and stop signs, of which there are few which I guess helps. Some days I drive fast and other days pretty normal.
