Hmm my main concern is that we have a lid to access our cigg lighter. Is there a way to seamlessly/hide the wiring e.g. F30s (?) have another cigg lighter under the passenger side!

I upgraded to the 650 front and rear recently.
I have the US-spec E82, btw. 1)What fuses/fuse and removal kit did everyone use when getting in<>out of the fuse box? or did you just fringer-prick it out of there? 2)Are you using BMW-spec fuses or general autostore fuses?

My 130i has one in the hatch area and the Blackvue comes with a cable long enough to reach. I just run it along the floor under the carpet/weather seals.

I just have to work out the right camera settings for parking mode. I only want it to record when parking if, someone either bumps or touches my car. Anyone shed some light on settings they have used? Thanks |

just get the a PMP and turn off the parking mode. or cut the cigarette jack off, and just hard wire it in. 2 cables, hard wire one, the other goes to the earth bolt.

Moocow, howd you go with the rear camera install on the 650? Im looking at getting it as well after being backed into at the work carpark with no note.
Did you run the rear camera from the rear fuse box or just it all run from one power source? If all one power source any dramas running the rear cable through that much roof line?

The rear camera connects via cable to the front camera. That single cable provides power and signal back to the main front cam unit. I ran the cable along the top edge of the windscreen, down the passenger side pillar (removed the trim first, under the door sill, under the edge of the back seat, under the side of the back seat (remove first), under the back pillar and across the top of the rear window to the cam. It was relatively easy to run the cable. I didn't have to remove an roof lining. cheers |

Finished installing a DR650 in my 135i today. No real dramas, ran the rear camera cable around the roof lining in the end as it only involved removing the B pillar cover and one bolt behind the C pillar airbag cover.
As for the fuse locations, 64 worked fine as my constant output (64 was empty) and i used 7 as my switching output (7 was used). 5 didnt work as a switching for me. In both cases i just used a mini blade wire tap, like this http://img.alibaba.com/img/pb/769/93...939769_943.jpg DR650 is a pretty nifty unit too, good quality and the wifi is good for viewing on your phone or whatever. Map function with GPS is good too, it maps your location on a google style map while you drive if you want it too. Did everyone else set their PMP to 11.8 Volts cutoff?

Have any of you guys tested the shock detection of the blackvue's in parking mode? My DR650 motion detection in parking mode works ok, but when i shake the car it doesnt detect it?

Posting to follow this thread.
We have had several break ins in our parking garage. The motion sensor when parked sounds perfect to catch the POS! |

Yep that's the main reason I got a blackvue for when my car is parked at work, among the whist driving features. Motion detection works great when there's movement or similar on both the front or rear camera, I can't for the life of me get the "impact" detection to work, even with max sensitivity on the shock detection whilst parked.

Sorry old thread to be revive. I've just bought a Blackvue DR650GW-2CH But seems like the whole point of getting full HD is to be able to read the number plate. But seems like I can't see the number place when driving? Yes this means also pause the video and zoom in. unless it comes to a complete stop. Anyone have this issue? or any I expecting too much??

Mine is fine, while I probably couldn't identify a plate at 20-30+ meters inside that distance is fine, figure anything that far away isn't going to be an issue to my car anyway.
