Fresh out of the oven.
Picked up a set of OZ Ultraleggera in pretty rough shape. Luckily I have a friend with a powder coat shop. Now to figure out the right tire size. Wheels are 18 x 8 and 18 x 9 et 40. My car is slightly lowered on M Performance suspension. I've been running 235/40/18 and 255/35/18 on 261M wheels. Would like to stay with this tire size. Pilot Sport 4S. Anyone have any experience with a setup like this ?

Nice wheels man! Tire size should be fine. Might need to step down to 225 front or roll fenders.
I really can't emphasize enough the importance of finding a skilled body guy to roll your fenders, takes time and patience and slow heat to do the rears, but you'll gain a lot of room.

Can't wait to get them on. I have a good body man if the fenders need a stretch. I'd prefer not to but we shall see.

I'm also on the Performance suspension with T1s, but I'm running 17X8 OZ HLT with 45 mm offset. I don't think I'd have trouble running 235s, but it would be pretty tight. I think you may have more issue though because of the 5 mm difference in offset.

I'm running the same 18x8 et 40 all around, with 235/40/18
At the front it works. Tight to the fender lip, but it works. No spacers. About -2 deg camber. Also have M3 arms which push the bottom of the wheel outboard a bit. I think you will be fine. At the rear, the tire will rub the inner fender liner, just inside the fender lip, at full bump. To the point where it has worn through in a couple of places. I think you will find that an 18x9 et40, with a 255 tire, on a slightly lowered car will hit the fender lip at less than full bump. |

I know someone with the same OZ wheels in bronze on his 135i.
He was running 225/40 and 255/35 Yokohama AD08R which have very square sidewalls and run very wide. They ended up being too aggressive and scrubbed. He wasn't interested in running lots of camber or rolling the gaurds agressively to get them to fit, so I ended up doing the rear hub swap on the car. Same mod as this: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=975919 This gained 10mm of clearance and the wheels fit perfectly with no rub after that.

Great wheels though. I love my OZs. You'll find a way to make them work. |
