I am quite confident I could lower my car without rubbing. But I can dial in up to -3.3 camber in the front. The rears are fine. When I go to 255 with my next track tire change it might be close. But with a little light fender rolling I'm sure I could lower the car and make 255's work.

There is an article in the new April volume of European Car magazine profiling the Madness Motorworks 135i. They are lowered on Kw3, with the same Breytons in 255f and 265r. It does not mention if the car rubs or if they rolled the fenders, but that is still encouraging. They use different tires, so that might be the reason. Either way, the Breyton offers a more useable offset for wider tires than most other wheels.

Really looks sharp. Are you using spacers only in front, or all 4? What off-set? And are these 18s or 19s? What tires are you running? Any rubbing? The one concern I would have is that the spokes appear to stick out past the tires by a fair amount; if so it seems they would be susceptible to major damage from minor curbing?

Thanks for any additional info!

10mm spacers only in front. These are the 8.5x18 with et48. I use these for the track and currently run Kumho V700 R compound tires. No rubbing and I think I could go to 255 without rubbing. But you need some additional camber up front to avoid rubbing with 245 or 255 tires. Stock alignment setting would rub. 245 clears with about -2 camber. The wheel lip and spokes are further out than most wheels and I you would have to be careful with curb rash. But since I use these for the track that was not a factor for me. Certainly many people are running them on the street without issue.

Dead sexy, cormier.
Matte gunmetal (or dark grey) on a silver car always looks hot.

I wish these came with more offset.
I want to run 245f/265r without spacers and 48et just wont do it =/
Sucks cuz those wheels are hot.

That's what I want too - I guess we'll have to wait a little bit longer for it.

Will 245/40/18 fit?

Will these fit on stock suspension with the GTS-R's? It sounds like PKCORMIER was saying you really need the negative camber by using camber plates to fit the 245's on front with spacer and stock suspension but most people seem to be using 245/35's. I am looking to go with the Dunlop StarSpec Z1's and they don't come in the 245/35 size. Thanks!

245 on 8.5x18 GTS-R's et 48 will not fit. Without at least a 5mm spacer, I think you will rub the strut - certainly under high cornering g's. When I tested the wheel without any spacers, I couldn't get my pinkie finger between the wheel and the strut. Depending on the tolerance of your build, it is possible you could mount this without a spacer, but I wouldn't do it. You want some margin. And a different tire may be wider or narrower than the Kumho tires I'm using. Then there is the fender issue. Without a spacer you will rub the fender. And if you add a spacer to clear the strut, you'll obviously rub the fender more. Thus the need for more negative camber.

A 245x40x18 tire has a 0.95" larger circumference. You may also experience some rubbing in the wheel well, such as the tab where the bumber connects in the front wheel well. This tire is 3.8% larger, rule of thumb being you should try and stay within 2% larger or smaller. This tire will read slower on your speedo. At 60 mph your speedo will read 57.8 mph.

Just go to a 255/35. It satys within the 2% percent range mentioned. In fact it is the same overall diameter as the 17" wheels on the 135i Vert and the 128i with sport package. 25.1". There is no rubbing at all with the stock suspension. And the Dunlops come in this size.
I can't tell you how many people are running 225/40 up front and 255/35 in the back. But there is a good reason for it.

Just to clarify, a 245 will fit the rear no problem and as will a 255. It's the fronts that are a pain. The widest tire you can fit up front with stock suspension is a 235. Anything wider and you are dealing with spacers or more negative camber, or both depending on wheel size/offset.

No problem using a spacer... I should have clarified that. I plan to use either a 5 or 10 MM spacer but wasn't sure about the added height of the 40 vs. 35. I know a 255/35 will fit on back but wonder about rub problems on front. The max I have heard on front (without major mods) is 245 front. I plan to use camber plates but with suspension until next year and just want to be sure they will fit before I pull the trigger.

Love these wheels....

Everyone that sees my car with the GTS-R's loves the look and thinks that they are 19" wheels. Running non-run flat stock tire sizes saved 10 lbs per corner of unsprung weight and an aggressively lowered stance has resulted in absolutely no rubbing.

Did i say that I love these wheels.

I've used search, looked at all the Breyton threads to no avail.
Does anybody have an SGM vert with grey GTS-Rs? I'm not really a performance junkie(as you can tell by the vert) but I am torn between the look of the BMW Perf 269s and the grey GTS-Rs. They are about similar in cost and I'm buying these for my summer tires (I just want to pick a very goodlooking wheel).

Heh, I'm looking for the same combo for summers. I'll go with either black or gray GTS-Rs. I really like the gray, but I want to make sure they contrast enough with the SGM. Black would be easier to find a match to cover the red stripe though....

Thats my issue. And the silver one is far to bright for my tastes.

I sent a PM to Gill about the plain matte grey (no stripe) version of the wheel. It's on Breyton's web site and on the Tire Rack's, but it doesn't show up as a fit for the 1 and I can't find the offsets. Could they have perversely decided to offer a no-stripe version, except for our cars?

Tirerack says the offsets are +45mm up front and +48 for the rears. And that red stripe is what turns me off of the Breytons. I have no red anywhere on my car. Its all SGM and black(and hopfully some CF in the future).
