What's this?

Twice I have got this system on the dash screen.

It looks like a large wide white exclamation point

Does anyone know what it means?

Looks like just a ! could mean the transmission is in neutral or another position other than P
whn you press the start/stop button

That was from a technical manual

I now found it in my cars manual, and there it says "your ignition is on with the drivers door open"

Its in mine on page 130
A section very near the end called "indicator and warning lights"

marketman is from Florida and he said it was on page 130 too.

The exclamation mark means the BMW sensor has discerned that you are having a Bad Hair Day.

Turn the car off and go back inside and fix that mop.

That's from the Canadian Manual, take my word.
