Just curious if anyone has every gotten in trouble with the law for running catless DPs?

I was going to ask that lol. I am in the Sfv and I never realized how much the Dp was going to smell

I never had problems catless of High-flow catted with the law. I have berk mids, so I was running fully catless. I can say, high-flow catted smells significantly less than my catless set up. Im glad I made the change. If you are concerned with smell get the high flow catted.

The smell is my biggest concern, I think I will have to find a high flow catted. Expensive but the smell is driving me nuts

The smell is horrendous. Smells like a motorboat. Drive with the windows down and its all up in the cabin. Every time I took my car out with the catless installed someone would pull up next to me and tell me my car was smoking.

Get AR design High Flow Catted downpipes. Troll on e90 post. I got mine used for $750 shipped. Yes, they are more expensive than catless, but they run so much cleaner. They still allow you to run stage 2 and e30 maps and do improve throttle response as well. I am happy I spent the extra money.

Yes, in SF, people would give me looks when i was in traffic. Both pedestrians and other people in cars.

Don't you guys have those vans parked on, highway on ramps, that test your car has it accelerates past it. I've seen where you have those Red light, Green light on ramps, the state parks these vans that measure your car's emissions as you drive past. IF they detect high pollution, they zap your plate number and you get a letter in the mail informing of you to get a mandatory emission test.

I know in the Stuttgart area the Polizei have a specially outfitted MB e-class that can check your car's emissions while following behind you on the autobahn. My buddy got nailed by them a few years back.

Will a catted DP sound like the stock one? or will it still have that awesome aggressive sound?

No.

I've ran catless for 2+ years. Gotten multiple tickets during that time but nothing about exhaust or cats.

I cant speak specifically for the n55, but my car is louder and sounds different than stock with the high flow catted pipes but not as loud as it was fully catless.

Come to cerritos and i'll let you smell mine. It's not that bad. I'm running JB4 as well and i've noticed the car smells more when i'm running map 5 as oppposed to map 1. I've never got pulled over nor has anyone made a comment to me other than a thumbs up. LOL

I actually put my car in stage 1 and it smelled less too lol but I have decided to live with it, the berk exhaust just sounds so amazing with my Downpipe. I get tons of Thumbs up and smiles too lol except for a man in a mini van today said my car was burning lol
