Nick's AW Build Thread- Rieger Parts Added

Whats up everyone. I guess it's time to get going with a build thread. I was heavy in the Subaru world, owning a 2008 wrx but I decided it was time to switch to something with a little better quality. I bought the 2011 msport back in 2013 with 15,500 miles on her. Paid a little more money than I wanted, but it was the exact color combination I was looking for.

When I picked up the car, it needed slight work. You could tell the car had been modded by the previous owner and that it was traded in with some stuff missing. The car had 264s instead of the 261s and was missing bolts in the strut tower. Other than that, the car was in mint condition.

The tires on the 264s were absolutely shot, you could tell the wheels were bought for the trade in. I drove the car to the shop that week and had 225/255 Michelin pilot sport as/3 put on. I must say, they’re a great tire for the price, but next time around I’m probably going to get a set of v12s. I also replaced the top hats because of the missing bolts.


It didn’t take long before I started modding. I bought a jb4 with flex fuel wires, bms intake, ets chargepipe, berk race exhaust, and 4in catless downpipe. Threw some e85 in the tank and WOW! This car became an absolute monster.

When I had the Subaru, I really focused on power and suspension. At this point, I was extremely happy with the power coming from the car and I was satisfied with the msport suspension. So I decided I was going to start focusing on the car’s aesthetic. My main focus is to keep it close to an OEM look. I bought a performance style carbon fiber spoiler, Blackline tails, and some plasma yellow angel eyes. I also order a Kerscher front lip, and a knockoff rieger carbon fiber diffuser. I really didn’t like the look of rieger’s “carbon look” so i decided to give the ebay knock off one a try. I actually talked to Jayden about what diffuser he had on his 135i and he filled me in about the ebay rieger knockoff so shoutout to Jayden for the help with that. Ill be posting pictures soon of both the front lip and diffuser.





Along with that I purchased a set of Apex ARC-8s in hyper black and swapped over my AS/3 from my 264’s. I was back and forth between VMR v710 and the arc-8 but I extremely happy with my decision. Perfect fitment and I have a ton of room for larger tires. My fenders are rolled from the previus owner, so my set up now looks rather tiny in my fenders. When the tires wear, ill be upgrading to 245s in the front and 275s in the rear. At that time, I probably pick up a set of KW v2s or a nice spring/strut combo, and most likely a set of spacers to fit the larger tires.

I havent whipped out the DSLR in awhile but i plan on getting some better pictures once all the carbon pieces are put on.

Carbon fiber diffuser showed up today but showed up with some imperfection. Small crack and random permanent marker line on the diffuser. Talking with the seller to get it replaced but overall a really nice looking piece!

Looking good so far, let us know how the seller deals with it, I am interested in this diffuser as well.

The marker came off with alcohol and the seller ended up refunding some of the money for me to get the crack fixed. It's a small crack so fixing it shouldn't be an issue. I'm going to fix it either tonight or tomorrow

Picked up a rieger 1m bumper over the weekend from a fellow member. Decided to see how to looked with the kerscher front lip. The lip doesn't fit the full bumper but over all it doesn't look terrible. I'm still probably going to sell the lip but it's a thought to keep in mind. Bumper is off to the body shop to get plastic welded and repainted. Rieger diffuser should be put on this week once it's back from getting the crack fixed

oo where you buy the carbon fiber diffuser off? i wanna get a reiger rear but their "carbon fiber" is a dipped carbon so not legit.

The car is going in on monday to get the rieger bumper install. How does everyone feel about the kerscher lip with the replica bumper? I bought some apr rods, but ive debating putting on the lip just because it wasnt made for that bumper. A side of me thinks it will look pretty decent pair with the bumper. Any feedback would be appreciated

Just based off of how it sits on the floor, the lip looks pretty damn good imo. It could be a different story once it's up on the car tho.

I think I'm going to go for it. I ordered apr rods to go with it. Dropped the car off today, it should be completed some time next week. I'll post pictures then!

Front bumper is painted. Test fit of both the bumper and front lip will happen next week. Hopefully the shop will have the install wrapped up by the end of the week.

Got the rieger bumper test fitted. Having the exhaust welded to extend the tips to fit with the rieger diffuser. Front lip looked like absolute ass so that will be back up for sale. Here's a quick pic for now.

It's a rieger knockoff I bought off eBay. I didn't like the "carbon look" that rieger offered. Came over from China or Taiwan. I believe it was about $350 or close to that. Fitment is good, but isn't great. I would give it a solid B overall.

So the shop finished up the install this week. Everything fit pretty good, some minor adjustments had to be made. Rear diffuser looks fantastic but I don't have any picture of it. Some iPhone pictures for now until I can get the dslr out. Weather is pretty crappy here in PA

The Rieger bumper really lowers the front profile of the car. Love the way that looks!
