Yes I agree they may look good on some cars, I was actually thinking about getting them and then borrowing a page from the porsche playbook, GT3-RS theme:

Start with my blacked out 135i, add those, silver mirror caps, and then do the diffuser cut out with black mesh and paint the diffuser silver, and then paint only the two front brake duct area bars silver (not the middle mesh because it has parts that aren't mesh on the side and may look funny) and then see how she looks.
