I didn't realize Irvine was home to the largest theatre complex in the world, as well as the largest parking facility. I always thought the Spectrum was big, never knew it was the biggest.

As long as we're going way off topic...I think Disneyland has the largest parking structure in the world.

Before my e92 i had a corolla, so no one paid any attention to me. At the age of 17 i got my 328i and i noticed lots of changes. Older people would watch me as I drive, stupid Asian teenagers always wanted to race in their hondas, but I was never cut off intentionally by some jerk.

I'd target you too. You're 17, drive a BMW, yet you haven't even mastered the English language. You really need to work on how you construct sentences, PUNCTUATION, and spelling.

In my own personal exp (which has only been a brief month) I'd say its split right down the middle, i've noticed more drivers letting me cut in or pass them, and then the other half of the people giving me dirty looks and purposely cutting me off

I just got a police shield recently so hopefully that'll make the dirty looker-cutters think twice

Honestly, people treat me much worse now that I'm in a BMW. I'm a young guy and went ahead and picked up a 335i to replace my '99 Maxima when business started getting better. People look down on me because they think daddy is paying for my car or I don't deserve it and its a big let down because I'm very proud of my achievements as I'm sure you guys are.

I've noticed more people treating me like I think I am better than everybody else. It doesn't help that I am 28 but probably look like I am 18 so they assume, "there is another spoiled asian kid whose doctor parents bought him a bmw."

Too bad I work hard for everything I have and am self-made - no handouts from mommy and daddy.

Just last weekend, I was leaving the bars and opened the car door for my girlfriend and the interior lights up - three guys walking towards us and one sarcastically says "oohhhh look at me getting into my fancy red car" (I have coral red interior)

I wanted to say something back to them but didn't want to start anything and ruin the night.

I try not to reinforce the stereotype that the Roundel brings, but unfortunately for every one of us trying to keep the peace there are three more reinforcing the stereotype.

So I first noticed this when I had my G35, but it happens all the more often with the E92...

I got used to, over a year of driving what people would consider a "nice car", that when I would look at a hot chick and smile at her, she'd generally smile back. I assumed this was just because I was confident and good looking, lol...

So I'm going to some store with my friend in his hyundai elantra, and I see a good looking woman in the parking lot and smile at her.. she sneers back at me, to my surprise. I try to figure out what it is, and the only difference I could figure is the car. Sure enough, all the times I was in my friend's hyundai I got the same results, and everytime in my car I got the same, positive, reaction

It's kinda sorry, but it's truth.... What a world we live in, eh?

I'm not so sure its the fact that you drive a bmw and you get respect, because i drive a bmw but some people give me dirty looks, cut me off, etc...........then again i am 18 so they may think i'm some rotten spoiled kid...........i think its more of the fact that some drivers are just jerks, and some drivers have respect and mind their own business........some people driving a bmw are jerks because they think that they have such a nice car and can do whatever they want.........they think they own the road especially where i live which is ironic because bmw's are extremely popular

On the other hand, this is Boston, so we don't pick favorites on who we're jerks to on the road. We give everyone equal opportunity to be cut off, honked at, yelled at, and generally abused!
Where I live BMWs are everywhere also but I usually get trated with more "respect" I guess you could all because most people think I am sucessfull. This is probably a better way to put it then I did in my previous post. I also am shocked not anyone has ever asked you about your car. I did notice a lot of people ask me about the car now that I have a DINAN badge on the back.

This is very true of woman. When I pay for something and my BMW key is out Girls always say you have a bmw like they are all impressed with you. Granted they are usually under 21 but I know exactly what your saying. When I had my Celica I got a few looks but now girls are looking all the time and yes this is very sad.

I get looks from women but I take it in stride, and pretend not to notice. Besides my girlfriend is usually in the passenger seat.
