Moral Dilemma Please Advise

So I have an interesting choice when it comes to replacing my rear bumper.
My rear bumper is perfectly fine with the exception of a small knick that may be repairable.

So my choice is. Live with a slightly more used bumper. Or buy the performance Aero Kit. Its the same amount of money. And I really like the performance Aero Kit.

Here is the knick.

If the money is the same, do the upgrade. My accident ironically missed the rear diffuser and side panels or they all would have been upgraded.

repair the rear bumper.

i had a very similar knick in my rear bumper about 5 years ago in my GTI. i had the VW dealership that caused the damage fix it and it looked good as new. and...it cost me nothing. i am sure the cost to them was minor as well.

now if you just need an excuse to buy the performance rear bumper, by all means...green light.

What does the performance bumper look like? I thought the only change in the back was the diffuser

I'm talking about taking the money that would be used to replace the rear bumper to buy the front aero kit.

Here it is on adrean8j's SGM coupe.

I think I know the result of the poll but more votes would be appreciated.

If costs are equal (more or less) and you want the aero bumper, go for it!

The stock 135i bumper looks better than the aero bumper imo... the aero makes the bottom look squished inwards and narrower so it makes the car look more topheavy, but that's just me.

I do however like the performanced side skirts...

I understand those points. I just think that the stock 135i bumper has too much stuff going on. I like the cleaner and slightly meaner look of the performance bumper.

Hmmm...tough call. Maybe wait until you get a "small knick" in the front? Then it's a really easy decision.

Is that a missing tow hook cover? One of mine disappeared a couple months ago.

I personally like the M front bumper but in your position I would go for the aero kit. It won't cost you any extra and it'll make your 135i stand out from the rest.

Well its the bus company's money when you get down to it. I was kinda hoping someone would call me an idiot and get me to not do it...but I love that front fascia far to much to not take this opportunity.

Thats awesome but I have 3 issues with it.
1) It looks like the stock bumper.
2) Why on earth would I need 10 inch wheels in the front?
3) Not covered under warrenty.

1) exactly =D
2) 9.5 or 10 square setup will make the car handle very neutral, good for the track!
3) um it's a plastic bumper what could go wrong with it...

I'm not putting that kinda money into new wheels and tires. I will never explore the potential grip that a 10 inch front tire will offer. Nor will my wallet allow it. I have PS2s on my car right now and I love the way the car handles.

And you never know what can or will go wrong.

Also as I said above I like the performance bumper more than the stock bumper.
