Eyelids of new 1 series and 1M for older 1 series?

I went to the Detroit Autoshow and saw the 1 M and new 1 series. Wow! The 1 M in Valencia Orange is sooo beautiful in person. The new 1's all had "internal eyelids" - a white plastic piece with a row of LEDs in them, in case you haven't seen them yet. (See below).

I was wondering if these could be retrofitted into the earlier models of the 1 series. I am considering a CPO 135 and would like to have these. They give those big headlights a meaner look.

How hard is it to get into the headlight assembly?

I don't think anyone has taken apart a headlight. It's pretty hard with this car. A lot of people have been asking about this mod though. Maybe that explains why so many people have been PM'ing me about eyelids lately. A couple of us have CSR eyelids that go on the outside of the car. I can get them from Germany. There's pics around here if you do a search. I personally don't like the 1M's eyebrows. I think they make it look stoned. The CSR's are much meaner. There are also eyelids from Mattig and Rieger.

I haven't spent much time looking at the headlight assembly but did study it a while in Detroit at the show. It certainly is not like my E46, which takes less than 2 minutes to get into them.

Can only imagine what a new headlight costs.

Has anyone opened up the headlights of a 1 series??? Are all of the angel eye mods being done through the back of the housing?

Update: Single Headlight assembly for 2010 E82 335i - $360; $704 if bi-xenon; $860 if adaptive. (from RealOEM.com)

All 135's come with adaptive.
