Iphone 3g contacts?

Howdy all,
Went into my dealer yesterday to try to pair my iphone with at 120i they have on the floor. (my 125i vert gets delivered in around 29 sleeps)
We had a bit of trouble getting the two to talk, so Im googling instructons. My question is this:
How have people gone with pairing the new 3g iphone to the car, and have they managed to transfer contacts over..... I see that the new bluetooth software in the phone only allows transfer for handsfree NOT data which leads me to think it may now be able to send the contacts over... Any comments?

I didn't do anything special. I just went though the bluetooth pairing routine and after thinking for a bit, everything was there.

They don't stay there though, you have to have the phone in the car.

The contact transfer happens automatically every time they pair.

Same here... transfers everytime I sync.. too bad there is no way to just sync the contact and use my jawbone for speaker and mic.
