BMW Dealer GPS

Anyone purchase the GPS from the dealer (not the factory installed NAVI)? It looks like a Garmin. Seems a little pricey but I'm interested in the fact that you can get a dash mounted bracket with it instead of mounting it to the windshield. Curious if the bracket will work with other GPSs besides the one sold by BMW.

This thread shows somebody using the bracket for a different GPS model than the Nuvi.

This thread shows how to self install with the Nuvi. It also has part numbers, if you are interested in taking this on yourself.

Good luck, and post pics with whatever solution you go with!

That's a bin that the Euro people get (that 1addict is from Norway), not the nav. I wish we got those bins here. That seems the perfect place to integrate an aftermarket nav to.

Makes sense now but I don't see any wires running from his GPS. I'm a bit hesitant to remove part of the dash in order to run the wires. Guess I could just install the bracket and run a wire to the outlet.

Anyone figure out any use for the jack storage area in the trunk now that we don't get a jack?
