ac/heater pops and crackles?

anyone else's ac/heater making these poping and crackling noises? It's driving me crazy. I don't hear it if I turn off AC/heater.

I think the noise might be caused by AUC? I haven't heard it when i have AUC turned off. Perhaps what i'm hearing is the "flap" opening and closing whenever it transitions between recirculated-air mode and fresh air mode. If this is normal it's pretty darn annoying.

When you have the auto-climate control ON, the car will automatically change from fresh air to recirculate. Depending on engine temperature, outside temperature and climate control settings, the compressor will turn on and off, the speed of the blower fan will cycle up and down, the flapper door routing air through the heat exchanger may open and close, and the doors for individual vents may also open or close.

All of these will make noise, but only the most anal of listeners will complain about it. I don't notice them in my car, as I'm too busy enjoying the drive. Besides, there's nothing you can do to silence these sounds, except wear ear plugs.
