I have the BMW Business Loud Speaker system fitted to my 2011 build 1 coupe which has the following:
4 mid-range speakers (2 in the front doors & 2 on the rear parcel shelf) 4 x 25W output.
2 tweeters in the front doors, 2 x 25W output.
2 woofers under the front seats, 2 x 40W output.
Analogue Amp 180W.

can you tell me what parts I need to fit tweeters to the rears?

What I can tell you is, speakers don't output watts.

You can get HiFi tweeters and plug them in. They will probably sound like ass because the factory system boosts the treble to try to get highs out of the 4" speaks.

Wait a minute - you have the tweeter system. You can get HiFi tweeters and plug them in. My mistake. Sorry.

Your speakers will still not output watts, though.

I really don't think adding highs from the rear is going to make you any happier with your audio system, by the way. That's not the problem...

In short, the standard sound system in 2010 and early 2011 cars is indeed inferior to what is found in other model years.

If you dig around the Audio subforum you can turn up more info, including ideas for upgrades.
This is great but I own a 2011 e88.

Can you direct me to the BMW PDF for that audio system?

I recently purchassed a early production 2012 135i that came with a Base radio setup. This means I only had the the 4" speakers in the front doors and rear deck. I picked up a set of HiFi tweeters up off ebay. They plug and play right into the existing speakers. I installed the front ones, have not had a chance to install the rear ones yet but was a huge improvement over the previous setup. Even without the "external app" totally worth the ~100$ spend to improve the system.

I love the stock sound in my 08' with bass set to 6 and treble sent to 4. Sound good in a little car for sure. You don't want it to sound to go cus then you'll miss the great sound of the turbo spooling haha

Hey there,

I recently got a 2010 135i with the stock sound system and I think it's sounds fine. It only ends up distorting when you turn the bass and treble all the way up, I have mine set around the middle and is plenty for me.

Ben.

IF the car you are looking at has the 2 tweeters in the doors' mirror triangles, that car has the HK option or someone installed the "Alpine amp/speaker/tweeter kit" on that car.

my 2010 BMW 135i has tweeters too, triangle near the windows.
this document cant be too correct. I also didn't see a black amp , but seen a silver amp in the trunk mainly on the passenger side
