The 1M has a new friend

with 92,*** miles on the M we wanted another vehicle to absorb some of the abuse. My wife primarily drives the M, and I my truck. We will now switch off with a very practical daily, an Alfa 4C spider.

The 4C is such an underrated car. Great purchase! It is so incredibly fun to drive!

Garage List
I almost bought an Exige before buying my (grumble, curse) prior E60 M5. It was the acrobatic routine required for getting in and out of the car that stopped me. I could literally foresee my wife getting in and out of the car exactly one time before refusing to ever ride in it again. I also could imagine ruining a few suits myself over its life as our sole daily driver.

The 4C looks similarly challenging. No regrets?

AzGregg it's funny that you bought an Alfa 4C... a friend of mine who works for BMW AG... recently bought one too. He loves his. He used to own a tuned 135i, then went to a 1M and then an M4. He then sold his M4 and got an ALfa 4C. I think the Alfa is underrated too. His only BMW's are a i3S and a X3 M40i

drive one for a couple days, and you may change your thought, I have.

we both had our reservations, My wife loves to drive a manual, and gets frustrated with most automatics. She has not had one complaint yet, and I feel the dual clutch gearbox is part of what makes the car unique.

Today I drove the M on some errands around Phoenix, what a difference!

our 1 has a N55 midpipe and Dinan tune, 0-60 on the two should be somewhat close. I love both! The M feels like a luxury TANK compared to the 4c, but a really fast tank!

The cabin noise and crappy stereo on the 4C become ever more obvious when you spend some time in the M after a few days in the 4C.

And I must say the seats in the 1M are much better. more comfortable, breathe better, and much more lateral support than the Alfa.

And of course I was kidding. I take my 1M out about once a week and my son and I (I usually let him drive, he is 23 and knows how lucky he is to do so) end the ride each time by saying what a great car it is. Nothing like it.

Plus, everywhere you go.... You get "The Look"!

I figured you were Joking, but I am seriously blown away by the trans in the ALFA.

on a side note, I just left the shop after finding that I need new turbos on the 1M, looks like its time for some PURE stage 1s
