Slow start when hot
Car has slow crank/start when hot, no issues starting on cold start.
I'm fairly positive that the starter is going, my question is would I have to replace the whole starter or just the starter solenoid?

Slow start and not fuel, its usually either starter itself, Power cable going to the starter (frays near the jump post on the passenger side), or a ground cable going bad (look on the drivers side, down by where the steering columns routes, on the subframe.
Never heard of someone just replacing the starter solenoid to be honest. |

Yeah I see that as well. Doesn't seem too hard to replace, maybe give it a shit, seems to save about $50-60. I did notice that the one for 2011 was different than the one I searched for a 2012 so make sure to get the right one.

How did you know it was the starter though? I've been reading and it seems like it could be either starter, leaky fuel injector, HPFP, timing chain, etc.. Do let us know if the starter replacement solved it please! Thanks |
