How do you guys know how many points you have left? In Qld I'm guessing we just get a letter in the mail when we've reached our max points. I hope I never get to find out. As I believe I've still only got 1 point left for the next year (after being booked two years ago), there's a good chance I will.

aus135i, due to other offences (speeding and bus lane), I have been suspended for 6 months so I don't mind talking about the points that were never allocated from my Vic speeding offence.
But its been over 12 months now and I still havn't seen the points from the Melbourne fine hit my licence. Does that make sense?

My understanding is that points are normally put against your licence after you pay the fine. If you do not pay or as some people do, stretch it out, even if your penalty would include loss of licence, you wont loose it until you pay the fine.
This has been on Current Affair or Today Tonight where they have given instances where drivers should have lost their licence due to DUI offences but are still driving because they have not paid any of the fines. I guess if the fine was for an interstate offence, then there could be significant delay in the points being allocated back to your home state record. |

Jeez you lot are a bunch of naughty boys, eh? In my 20 odd years of driving I've never been booked for speeding. Those who've been on a drive with me might be surprised to learn that. The trick is to stick with the +10km/hr allowance in NSW, and be careful to chose the moments when you feel like something quicker.

Harpoon, I think the interstate point system only happen few months ago.
Yes, I don't think showing an international licence will be a good idea anyway, if you carry a VIC licence because you are committing a fauld already...
