I dont ever use them unless Im going to my gf's house and she lives out in the sticks (where you have to avoid wallabies ), xenon lamps are perfect for everything else

ironically, having your foglights on at night in clear conditions REDUCES your distant vision as your pupils contract due to the brighter light in the foreground...

'Bout time they made either foggies, reasonably bright DRLs or headlights compulsory during the daytime like Austria, or like Motorcycles. These can significantly reduce accidents, particularly on small road-coloured cars (think greys, blacks and silvers).
