This is true but I regularly hit 170 and 140 daily so for most of us they are necessiary. My 60-130 is almost no time and its easy to go fast.

Yeah, what I said back in post 738. At least make it an option for the buyer. It would be nice to only have to install the pins, the roundel and washer nozzles and of course the hood and to be good to go up to any speed you are willing to risk getting your license cut in two on the spot and getting chauffeured away. But, it is what it is... Hopefully it doesn't hurt to ask... |

That's the thing. It's not a problem until that one millisecond when it happens. Anyway, sorry to beat this into the ground. Probably should have been in its own thread.

just my two cents. I know if you call up DTMrack or HPF they will be more than happy to get you all set up on what you need with your iCarbon parts.

I have been involved in modifying cars for almost 12 years now. I have had many CF hood and I have even had one pop up on me but it was due to me being dumb and not latching it all the way. Anyway, I have never seen one that was predrilled. The reason for this is because some people do not want the ugly clips or whatever type of pins you purchase screwing up the look of the hood. They are recommended but not mandatory! Therefore there would be no reason for a company manufacturing the hoods to do so. If anything they should make it an option that you can have done before the product is shipped to you but that would be the very most. Also, do not try and do it yourself, you will only crack the clear coat!

This should not be this difficult, I dont care if no other CF hoods have ever been offered with installed pins, this makes it a great oppurtunity for CF then. And I guarantee you, if it was a good quality pin and the install done consistently well, this option would be utilized by more than 50% of their customers which would obviously net them a profit with the whole thing and their shop as well. Pretty much the point is, I wont even be thinking bout this as a mod till something like this happens, I do not feel like messing with a more fragile hood that ive already spent loads of money on, id rather the work be done by or thru the manufacturer under their own warranty. ^ Makes an excellent point. iCarbon should offer this as an option and charge like $400 for parts and labor. Why not? Sure it would cost no more than $200 at a local shop, and just $80 if you know what you are doing, but if people what an additional service and would be willing to pay good $$ I think it be ignorant not to profit off of your consumers...
I'm sure there will be those who would complain about the cost but it is what it is. |

You are right, who knows it could be less or it could be more. Plus since its an option, one would expect it to be more (it is a business afterall) since you are paying for the convienence. At least now, people can choose to pay $400or choose to take it to a local shop to do it. Again, yYou have that option, no one said the first option would be cheap though lol....

Anyone heard from icarbon lately? I was supposed to finally get a tracking number for my double sided trunk (which I ordered and paid for 233 days ago) on 2/28. I emailed them twice since 2/25 and have not heard a peep. This is seriously getting old.

I've been waiting on a vacc hood, according to Andy about 2 weeks ago, he said it will for sure ship on 3/12. I'm REALLY hoping that holds true! So tired of waiting.... Only reason I haven't been going crazy is that the car is still garaged until the weather warms up a bit & the road salt is washed away.
