They did/do the same thing with the Gallardo, the Underground Gallardo holds the 60-130 record over on 6speed 3.04 seconds, closely followed by the R35 GTRs out of the states. That's the platform to use for a seriously fast modded daily driver or track car.

It's hard to imagine someone forking out $850,000 and punting this thing hard. Where can you possibly use 1200 hp??? This is acceleration in superbike territory. I gave up bikes partly because my poor brain can't keep up with the astonishing level of performance so I can't imagine what it would be like in that mad rocket weighing 1500 kgs or whatever and 2 mts wide.

If I had 800k for a car, I could see myself splashing out 100k on mods, afterall I've spent more than 10k on an 80k car...
Especially if there was an aventador forum where a guy called Vinney kept getting new mods every week and I felt like I needed to keep up haha

Personally, I would rather have a car with a faster 0-60 time than have a higher top speed or even 60-130 time.
I go 0-60 all the time, and rarely get to go all the way up to 130mph.

Yeah. But the car with the faster 1/4 and 60-130 time is usually universally always faster. The time differences over those distances & speeds really shows how much faster though. It's a better measure and indicator of performance.

Completely agree with you on those points, and on a track that is most evident. I just think having a quick car as a daily driver would be more fun than a fast car. Of course, I don't have either right now
