Seriously... F*CK PACIFIC BMW.... I apologize if this was too vulgar.

But every experience I've endured with this dealership has been unpleasant.

Arrogant, dishonest, and inconsistent sales men with ridiculous mark ups, and and now this... I personally will never step foot in to this dealership again and for you and your car's sake, I recommend everyone else not to as well.
If ever asked about cars, I recommend people to STAY AWAY from PACIFIC BMW
Honestly, I hope they get hit hard with bad numbers.

I actually have a buddy who's a regular there... time to switch dealers

ps- not to be racist in any way shape or form, simply based on the area and its population as well as the video, the driver (who I hope was fired on top of many other horrible things) may be Armenian or Persian unlike "white male" as stated in a previous post (just maybe, just trying to propose another possibility). Anyone figure out who they actually were?

PPS- for those who haven't seen the video, it was of a 1M still with plastics all over the seats and other packaging, with the driver and a passenger. Driver flooring the car through the local residential streets at every chance available, getting all excited, with someone else's brand new car. For those who don't care much about this, just imagine if it was your own future car.... which they're charging mark up for.

Pacific BMW... thank you for making it explicitly clear to divert everyone and anyone away from your dealership

phew... thank you, hope you enjoyed my rant, i'll be here all week
on what basis are you concluding that he could be Persian? I am persian and those hairy ass blondish arms don't look persian to me lol

Awright, let's not get off topic, everyone want to blame immigrants for everything bad that happens this guy is a douche no matter what color, nationality, creed, sexual orienatation or whatever. This has no place here either IMO. A douche is a douche in any culture.

So what is the status of the video? As long as the poster doesn't say it's PACIFIC, since we don't know for sure, this video was put voluntarily in the public domain by the poster so it is now public. They might try to scare you with some lawyer talk, but it's bunk, it's news put out voluntarily by the douche-bag.

We need to pass this on to LA News consumer affairs, they would love to show this on the news IMO.

Now once posted, if someone can deduce which dealership based on known landmarks while pulling out and in of the dealership, and the poster doesn't make any claim, there is no problem. Passing it on to news is the best if you are scared, they have lawyers too and they know that this is now public domain. It's like trash... once you put it out voluntarily on the curb, it can be freely searched.

i called PBMW about the car. i spoke with one of the CA's. i gave them my real name and number (why would i care about a fictitious "porn" name anyway; that's just retarded). i asked if they had a 1M in stock; "yes we do". "great"! i told them i was interested. i also told them that i am a member of "a forum", and i was concerned that this car may have been driven hard by one of their techs and that there was a video online about the incident.

he got real with me at this point.

update: the car is back in service. as of now they aren't selling it until they make sure everything is correct on the car (he wouldn't even take money until he talked with his manager). he heard about the incident; they all did, and i believe that it is being handled (he obviously couldn't give me exact details; ie "is the douche fired"?). i also don't believe that they're going to try to mark the car up $40,000 anymore either, but he's calling me back to let me know. this is obviously a very big deal for them though. guess i'll find out more when i get a callback.

now i'll flip this story a little bit. sure...it's absolutely horrible. the dill-hole drove SOMEONE ELSES car like a racecar up and down public streets. that is....how do i say....a little....dickish. But the car is a car, and it's meant to be driven. And some people may not even care (believe it or not). Example: i went to a Subaru event in SC at CMP motorpark and they had a BRAND NEW 2011 STi racing around the track with a semi-pro driver tearing it up for anyone who wanted a ride. Fun fact: the car was already SOLD to someone in the charlotte, nc area. HE KNEW that it was going to be put through this. BEST PART: he STILL bought it for FULL MSRP. yup. would i buy the car like that? nope. most of you? probably not...but there are people out there that would.

oh well...

... yea if you didn't freaking floor your customer's brand new cars during PDI, maybe they'd have less problems.

So Pacific BMW basically confirmed it is the 1M from from their dealership. You can follow up to see if they have a service technician named Nick that does PDI.

A fairly dickish and completely idiotic move, but I can't believe it would have damaged the car in any way. Frankly if the car was being PDI'd it probably didn't yet belong to buyer (maybe had a deposit, but doubtful that the deal had been paid in full and papers signed) and still belonged to the dealership, and like it or not they can treat their cars as they wish. Anyone who has worked in the car business knows that this stuff happens all the time, and the ones that make it to the web are likely only the tip of the iceburg. Good dealerships have a zero-tolerance policy for it and first offenses are last offenses. I would think that this particular dealer would be more upset with the negative publicity over the $40k markup.

Then again, I was lapping the Nordschleife less than 24 hours after I picked up my 1M at the Welt!

Simple solution:
1. Dial (888) 878-4389
2. [ring, ring]
3. (PBMW): "Hello! Thank you for calling PBMW, how my I direct your call?"
4. (You): "May I speak to Nick in service please"?
5. (PBMW): "Sure! One moment please."
6. [hang up]
7. Post back your findings

Once the video was posted to Youtube by the original poster assumed to be the person in the video or passanger it was public domain. You can;t be found liable for slander simply by reposting a public image or video. Since knobody knows the individuals in the video you are further in the clear.

Your point holds merit and is well taken, but there is the underlying reality of what occured here.. True that probably nothing is wrong with this car......This time..... but like i said its the underlying fact that this dealer has persons in there employ that are disrepecting private property, and potentially creating damage and or leagal issues if god forbid a baby carriage was being pushed acrross the intersection when their employee decided to see what the rev limiter sounded like in someone elses car.. Maybe even yours one day. you get my point I hope..

and as far as your Nordschleife comment im with you 100% I was at lime rock in false grid with 1001 miles showing on the clock..BUT that was our choice, wasnt it ... we new the risks.. ( and enjoyed every minute of it )

I guess its like finding out that you and your buddy ended up being "tunnel buddies" with the girl next door... Its just not the same..

or

you went to your favorite diner for a double cheese burger... only to find out that the duch bag in the kitchen decided it was ok to add some "special sauce" to your burger...

one has the right to know or decide to make a choice!!

I completely agree and know from first hand experience what a asshat service tech can do. Two weeks ago I dropped off a SL55 for routine service, a day later it was driven into a curb sideways "trying to avoid an accident". It was in pristine condition garage kept 24/7 '03 model year with only 10k miles on it. I posted some pics over at the general automotive forums. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=567774

it's just a media player, but it happens to be a really good one that works on most of the popular platforms. http://www.videolan.org/ (its free). it also plays flash video files (which is what this file is).
