A-Spec in Schaumburg
Went there today to drop off my car. Talked with the owner Sean for a little bit. Really nice guy and have me fair price on everything I wanted installed. Getting walnut blasting done as well as couple other things I will update once I get the car back.

Got my car back and couldnt be happier Sean and brad at a-spec are great guys. They did walnut blasting for me and installed dci, chargepipe with bov, fmic, occ, wheel spacers, steering wheel trim, and changed oil and spark plugs. Highly recommend these guys especially for walnut blasting. I saw some decent gains just doing that alone.

If that doesnt work i recently went to 2 local bmw masters techs that work at a local dealer. They do side work on the weekends and used the bmw special tool. They are in algonquin and charged me $325. Also did my oil fikter housing gasket at the same time. Will be going back.

I know who u are talking about. They used to post on here but I don't think they do anymore. I chose A Spec because they are close to me and the guy there has done tons of blasting on bmw and minis

Very happy with the work done by A-Spec tuning today. I showed up with my rear coil overs and M3 rear arms installed.
Brad installed my front coilovers, M3 arms, Dinan fixed plates and set the ride height were I wanted it. He ran it down and got it aligned, and finished it off with a walnut blasting of the intake ports. Interesting to see the intake valves. At 37000 miles I had buildup on the all of the valve stems, and buildup starting to form on the valves.. Kinda looked like grainy brown sugar syrup on the valves with minor buildup. I was thinking that I didn't "need" it done after seeing worse pictures online, but the 8/10ths of a gallon improvement on the 120 mile drive home showed it was worth it. At a great price as well. |

I've heard great things and I've been looking into getting on their dyno. Anybody have experience with their dyno?

I asked about cleaning the intake valves again and they didnt have the equipment to do it or think it was ever needed. I followed up myself 500 miles later with the walnut blasting. After seeing the valves myself, I am glad I paid to get it done. Car is running great, still on stock plugs (kinda makes me wonder if new plugs every 20K miles like alot of people on here seem to recommend are just a mask for needing the valves cleaned???) I plan to do plugs at 45-50K miles. |
