18x8.5 et45 best tire sizes?
Wheels are 18.8.5 et45 on all 4. What is the widest/safest tire sizes I could go without rubbing? Looking to put small kids in the backseat so would like no rubbing. Thanks!

Have you read through the wheel tire fitment what's been done thread? Your answer is probably there.

Put 245/30/18 on there and call it a day. You'll need to roll your guards up front and dial in at least -1.5 degrees camber, probably more like 1.8-2.1. Point? You'll rub up front, not in the back. It's a nice balanced setup though, you'll enjoy it on the street and track if you go.

The stock size 245/35/18 on the rear will work. The Front will be harder as posted above, but 225/40/18 would be a safe choice.
Another option if you have camber plates such Dinan ones for the front: Front: 235/40/18 , Rear: 245/40/18. |

So 245/35/18 on the rear and 225/40/18 on the front will be ok with NO rubbing? I did search the fitments but not returning the info I need. Seems some are running that size but are modified. Meaning lowered or rolled lips. I was just looking to run this in stock form.

Its fairly common to use 245/35 street tires on the rear with ET45 offset, even on wider rims. If your ride height and alignment is stock, there should not be rubbing.
Here is a post from someone running the 245/35/18 on 18x8.5" rims. The car is able to fit 235 front tires after camber plates have been installed. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=376 |

Stock suspension should be fine - It actually gives more clearance. Generally people are able to fit various brands of 245 tires on a ET45 rim and not have issues, even when they are lowered. If you have something wrong with your wheel alignment, it may be possible for it to lightly touch the plastic fender liner. Most street tires are narrower than the Michelin PSS in the post above, so again that works in your favour to avoid rubbing.
Lowered suspension it puts the wheel closer to the fender (obliviously) so It can require a modified wheel alignment to get the same amount of fender clearance. |
