Speedometer coding

After I got my radar detector installed in my 128i I realized that the analog speedometer was 5-7% fast according to the radar detector's built-in GPS. After googling the problem I discovered that this is a well known issue with basically all BMWs since the late 90s (maybe before IDK), Can this be fixed though coding?

I emailed Carly support about this issue since they list as a possible coding option except on US models and I quote their response: "We have found that the US model just doesn’t support this feature." So what is it about US models that doesn't allow this feature to be coded?

This has got to be one of the most annoying things for me about my 128i. Any info would be much appreciated.

Note: I am aware that I can turn on a digital speedometer which can display a true speed, but I am specifically interested in coding the analog speedometer.

There is a way to modify the values but is not simple and would be difficult for a new coder.

In the Kombi you modify: K_ZAHL_TACHO and K_ZAHL_TACHO_KOMPL with NETTODAT coding by changing the values.

I've read what DaZuc said but I've never seen a post where somebody successfully did it. I have the digital which reads true mph and I ignore the stupid regular speedometer. This is one really poor decision BMW made in the design. I've read the excuse about German traffic laws but I don't live in Germany and I don't need a Mommy to tell me what to do. BMW could easily make this codable and has decided to make it very difficult so we don't do it. No other reasonable explanation. In the U. S., the cars should come with the speedometer reading accurately. They cost enough for a technician to spend a couple minutes setting them up properly.
