The ultimate...commuter car?
I wrote an article for BMW Blog and it was put up as the featured article today. It's been making the rounds on Facebook today but i wanted to post a link here today for people who are not on the 1M Owners page on FB!

Fantastic read. congrats on being one of the few 1M owners who actually drive their fantastic cars. Engines, trannies, diffs, rims, and paint can be fixed or replaced. Time can't.

Awesome! Hey, wait a minute, are you borrowing my words a little bit on the "memories being worth more than the value of the car"? Nice!

I just read your article and I must say, I'm glad you're having so much fun with your 1M. I feel the same way about my car. It fits like the perfect glove. I've had many cars in my life, but this one just pushes all the right buttons. I would love a 1M, it would be my dream car, but because of an injury, I can't work a clutch any more, so this one will have to do, and I'm not complaining at all. Life is what it is and we have to make the best of it. I'm so lucky to have what I do have. Enjoy, Syed.

Nice job. I use winter tires to continue commuting all year n Chicago and figure it won't rust out before I do! Might cheat on my VO a little next year, tho, when wife gets Macan...

Nice to see that enthusiasts like us try to tie in this amazing car of ours into the most important aspects of our lives. Coincidentally my car left the factory, the same day our daughter was born. And some of my most memorable drives are with her on the seat right next to me.
Since you mention that this will be your baby vehicle, for your family's comfort, consider passenger airbag deactivation retrofit (option 470), so your little one can sit right next to you. Sure backseat is doable, but you'll save effort and add fun on a daily basis. (I should write that DIY one of these days: EDoc633185258 English Retrofit Option470.pdf) Last edited by eeghie; 04-27-2015 at 07:19 AM.. |

Thus far I have only thought about the rear seat for him, as this is not really a daily thing and most of the time the baby will be in the car it will be on our weekend trips and/or drives together with my wife. BUT i will definitely keep your solution in mind if i decide to try out that method! thank you |
