Garage List
According to a CA I spoke to yesterday, there were 184 1Ms on order and 124 of them in production. He mentioned that all were sold except for 6 that had a designation of a dealership demo. Most of the 6 dealerships were located in Cali.

Meanwhile, I'm also looking at 2011 M3s with under 10K miles for around $60k. I'm not going to get in the performance argument of what does better around what corner, but if both the M3 and 1M are at $60k, it's a toss up. I'm finding a lot of car in the M3. Also, I know the M3 is available, and the dealer is willing to work with me rather than gouge me.

I will hold out for MSRP-ish and I need the ED. Someone told me that all the ED slots were gone already. What does that mean? I'll pick it up from the parking lot out back I just need it to be in Germany.
I loved your post buckeyegirl, my wife and salesman both wanted me to play the cancer card to get an allocation (yes, i actually am going through chemo for a second time now). Luckily the dealership owner, who was originally keeping the 1M for himself, let me have the allocation regardless.

I am expecting a late September, early October delivery. I believe this is concrete since I have an actual production number

Open allocation(s) in DC area...

Just talked my salesperson in the DC area....This dealership is getting 8(4 more than I thought) allocations and 15 people are on the list. 1/2 have not put down actual deposits just a name. I think only 5 have put $$ down and it might be possible to slide down on this list. PM me directly and i'll give her contact info to you; she knows the details...The whole name on list/ who's locked in/ who's not she'll have the details.

The are staying at the MSRP price...No markups...

I am so happy for you getting the 1M it sounds like it is JOY on wheels and will help you convalesce. I hope your better soon and I'll say some prayers for you, if that's ok.

Holy crap - 8 allocations? Since I'm number 3 or 4 at a dealer who has already delivered 2 cars, that gives me hope!

So much love here, awesome.

Now, if we could all just get some of these cars, then we'd REALLY bond.

United BMW of Gwinnett and Roswell in Georgia are expecting 8 allocations as well, 4 for each dealership.

They have a waiting list of 8 deep, all with deposits down, but you can try. Ask for Tolli, she was really helpful.

Can't PM yet. If you could drop me a line, I'd appreciate it. I'm in line somewhere else and hoping for an allocation to open up.

Thanks CJwee! I'm now their #6 with a $1k refundable deposit. Very professional to deal with. I'll keep my #2 deposit on an unconfirmed allocation in Savannah for now, but I'm feeling a lot more confident about getting a car this morning. Thanks!

FWIW, I was told by a regional rep that the 2012 WILL be made. There is an emissions law change between 2011 and 2012 which is why all of the current 1Ms are still being called 2011 models. BMW is tweaking whatever needs to be done to match the new 2012 testing guidelines.

If you check the EPA's site, the new guidelines cover 2012-2016 vehicles.

Well, if that's the case. There will be a lot of foolish people out there. I sincerely hope that is the case so I can stop jumping through these ridiculous hoops to get this car.

Agreed. Anyone paying over MSRP had better plan on keeping their car for 10 years or they're going to be in for a rude awakening when they go to sell.

Supposedly, at least as many 2011s and likely quite a bit more. The limited allocations is due to having to get inside of the outgoing EPA regulations.
