Almost here: "Carmen" has arrived at Port Hueneme

The ship carrying my new 135is arrived in the US today. Just a few weeks until it is in my driveway.

Anyone else have a car on "Carmen?"

Hello to a fellow Seattleite (transplanted to Ohio...). You're gonna love the 135is. My boss uses a Mini Cooper S as his DD, and has a 1M in the garage (along with several other 'toys') and says he loves 'em both!

Tell us about the car you ordered!

My daily driver is a MINI Cooper S Clubman, and I've loved it. The lease is up, though, and once I drove the 135is, I stopped looking at everything else.

Actually, once I *heard* the 135is, I was done. That exhaust note is just about perfect.

I kept things pretty simple on my order:

Mineral Grey Metallic
Coral Red Boston Leather
Manual transmission
Heated seats
Harmon Kardon
BMW Assist (for the BT)

BMW is also throwing in the Premium Package for free because the first car I ordered burned to the ground when the truck shipping it up from CA burst into flames. Not even joking.

We got my car ordered again just in time before 1-series production ended.

Looks like a great build to me! Sorry to hear about the first car you ordered... I watched the video and cringed at the thought of a 135is going up in flames. I'm sure you'll have better luck this time having the car trucked to BMW Seattle or BMW of Bellevue. Keep us posted!

Congrats! I just got my car a couple weeks ago and I still remember that long painful wait. It took me about 1 week for my car to get from Port Hueneme to BMW Seattle but I got the 128i, which doesn't need to have things installed at the port. Hope yours arrive quickly!

Thanks, everyone. I figure the odds of the second car also meeting a nasty fate are pretty much zero. I know that's not how probabilities work, but it's a better coping mechanism than drinking.

I'll definitely post a few photos once it arrives.

HnT: what was the VIN on your first car? Guessing 60466 or 60740 (if it was mineral/coral)?

That unfortunate incident will reduce the number of 135is coupes to 613 made, 612 sold

Can't wait to see another fellow mineral grey as most of us active mineral greyers on here shockingly all have some form of black interior except for Chunner with his 1 of 1 savannah beige.

The IS I test drove though was mineral grey with coral, have pics somewhere if you weren't able to see the combo in person on an IS, and looked great. Bit bold for my very conservative tastes though, but I did think about it.

Hopefully the first one would have been a lemon or headache mechanically and this one will be perfect! And you'll have one of the absolute last ones ever made, too.

I'm sure you haven't forgotten about my Oyster interior…

One of the CAs at my dealer bought a Space Grey 135is vert with Coral. It was a great looking combination, but I think the Coral looks better on Mineral Grey.

Oops, and Rick's Oyster! It's so new it temporarily escaped my mineral grey mind. Perhaps I'll repost or link in those mineral grey with coral red shots I took, though they are of low quality due to cell phone and it being stuck in this weird corner driveway so couldn't get good angles.

The irony is I saw a space gray with oyster when I was looking, in stick, sat at that dealer for about 6 months. Space always looks like it has a little hint of purple in bright light to me and I don't like it as much on the 135, but is hands down my favorite color on a 335/335is which I almost got twice. Go figure.

Here are my pics to mineral gray 135is with coral, though looking at it now 8 months later, for some reason it looks so light to me!

Wow, your car looks fantastic. It's been so long, I'd almost forgotten how much I liked that color combo.

Would have loved to do Euro delivery, but it wasn't in the cards this time. Someday...
