'11 Performance Edition 3-door Hatch (Alpine White)
Hi
New to the site, but thought I would join up as it looks like there is loads of good info on here My car is a 2011 special edition model (Performance Edition) made by BMW for the London Olympics. The car has the following spec: 2011 (11) 116d 'Performance Edition' M Sport Spec (suspension, bumpers, wheels, steering wheel etc) 20,000 miles Alpine White Options: 18" Double-spoke style 261M alloy wheels Armrest - front. centre Bluetooth hands-free facility BMW Professional radio with single CD Headlight wash Run-flat tyres Sun protection glass USB audio interface Xenon headlights Pictures (just the dealer ones for now as I don't collect until the 22nd May): The car is also having the following items fitted at the dealer before I collect: BMW Performance Steering Wheel (vII) BMW Performance Handbrake grip / Alcantara Boot BMW Performance Gear Knob / Alcantara Boot: Also, in the interests of staying one step ahead, I did a little research and decided that I wanted the Bilstein B12 suspension kit, so I sourced a kit and bought it! Currently sat in the house, and I'm waiting patiently for my car so I can get them fitted... the quality of this kit is fantastic Finally, to get the interior spruced up a little, I also have these alcantara bits ready and waiting to fit to the car. Custom trimmed centre dash trim and door handles - should match up nicely with the BMWP wheel, gear knob and handbrake Plans for the car in the future will be a remap to 180hp / 400nm and possibly the BMWP front bumper..... |

OK, update again...
Bought myself the OEM Alpine upgrade kit... Speakers use upgraded aluminium membranes and comes complete with tweeters amp looks pretty decent being a class d with 4 x80w channels... Alongside that, I have sourced myself a second under seat woofer since BMW decided to be tight and only fit the newer cars with one! Just need to find somewhere local in the North East to code into the car... :-/ Finally, I've now also bought a new binnacle cover / speedo shield to get trimmed up in alcantara to match the dash trims going in |

Hi! I love your wheels, they look awesome on white e81. Mine has the same engine as you (N47 2.0) and I'm thinking to remap it too.
Please make tons of pics of those interior changes when you pick the car! I think it's going to look awesome. Greetings! |

OK, so after a 600 mile round trip, I have my car!!!
Everything is great, it literally is like new. Smells new, drives like new and is immaculate!! All the BMWP items were fitted bar the grills (dealer ordered the wrong ones!!) does anyone know the part numbers for the grills that work with the E81 so I can order some up locally?? The drive home was the perfect chance to get to know the car and I love it!! Some pictures: |

Its a nightmare - most forums normally compress the image to suit, but this one doesn't.
I will look at shrinking them down on photo bucket.... |

After an eternity of faffing ops: .......... I have finally bought some rims!
OZ NOVA 2pc splits, which will be a square set up in 18x8J (ET36) fitment. They will poke 9.6mm more on the rear than the stock rims and poke 17.3mm more on the front than stock. Just need to decide on what tyre sizes to run front and rear without any major issues next... I'm guessing 215 on the front, but unsure of the rear at the moment. Really happy with them and very rare rims too! |

OK a few small updates...
Took the LED's out because they were pretty much invisible during daylight! The did look awesome at night, but the OEM rings are designed to be DRL's and whats the point in having bulbs in that you cant see!? So my solution was some £7 H8's off e-Bay rated to 35w and 7500k. Bit of a pain to get them into the lights compared to the OEM Phillips bulbs, but they are nice and bright during the day compared to the old LED's I had in there Also, I finally managed to track down some BMW Performance grilles for the front bumper. They took literally 5 mins to fit and I'm really happy with the look from the front end now |

Another day - another update....
Today I went to a local wheel shop (Revoloution Motorsport) and I ordered some genuine OZ centres for the wheels (£60 for 4 caps!!!! FML) Then tonight I met up with a bloke from the 1 series forums and he very kindly fitted my Alpine audio upgrade for me (new tweets, new mids and a 4 channel amp which also powers the 2 under seat subs along with the mids and tweets) the sound is now very much improved over stock and after driving home I now I have a headache from the bass! No pictures as of yet, but all thats visibly different is that you can see the aluminium speakers behind the door speaker grilles and I now have tweeter pods on the doors. My BMWP discs also turned up this afternoon so I mocked up the 6 pots and BMWP disc under one of the OZ's to test brake clearance - there is loads of room and they look like this (fills the wheel nicely): Oh and its currently doing 550 miles to a tank! |

Got my aero spoiler on today, no pictures as my photo bucket account is clearly FUBAR!!!
However one problem, its on slightly further to the left than it should be... Sadly though there is nothing I can do as its now firmly bonded in place with the supplied double sided tape and a squiggle of tiger glue down the centre, its nothing major like 1cm out on one side, but I'm the kind of OCD that will notice it everyday. In other news, my performance bumper turned up today and I'm getting it fitted a week today along with the Bilstein B12 kit. I have also bought a 1M headlamp, now need to hunt out a second lamp, but at £600 per unit - I could be waiting a while (this one was a bargain at £120 delivered) Difference to mine is they have the LED DRL eyebrow along the top of the light |
