Cool! But I think you may find that it's way cheaper just renting a M3 in Europe.

@Way, yeh, hire car, thought of that. There are so many restrictions on them, what country and where you can drive. Hahaha maybe BMW OZ can sponsor me (in my dreams, we tried that already didn't we Way)

I thought it would be pretty special to have a service entry stamped in my log book from Munich and a ring stickered car in Aus that had actually been on the track.

Anyways, it's all theory at this stage.

If you were willing to spend the money why not hire a 911 from Avis instead? I've travelled to Germany on numerous occasions. Worst car I got was an e class merc, still took it to the ring lol

You realise that you won't be able to part with the car once you have travelled the world in it. Too many memories.

Seems like a great idea. Not a sensible idea but many schemes driven by passion mark the most memorable times in your life. You'll need a boxing kangaroo and / or Australian flag somewhere evident whilst touring, unless you sidetrip to Afghanistan, in which case I would strongly urge against that idea. You also need to legitimise the 'Ring sticker you already have.
I'm interested to hear how much it will cost if you are willing to divulge.

I say go for it and ignore all the captain sensibles.

Unless it turns out to be a little TOO insane, it sounds like a GREAT idea to me!

Would love to know how it goes

After watching a doco on the rich UAE teens taking their cars to the uk, it IS possible, insured and all..

Though i'm not the best judge of sensible
