"Tee" mod
I have read much about the tee mod keeping both pipes open and how the BMS Performance Exhaust keep both pipes one all the time. Besides sound is there any real benefit keeping both pipes open all the time? Are there any drawbacks?

I'm pretty sure it's just there to keep the exhaust quieter when just driving around. Also, don't waste time with a golf tee, just unplug the wiring harness for it in the trunk.

The sound difference is the only benefit. I just zip tied the rubber hose and it's been that way for a year.

I had it by accident when the body shop that fixed my rear-end collision forgot to reconnect the tube to the vacuum pump. Lol. I liked it, but now I have a BMW PE and I wouldn't waste my time with the golf tee mod of you want great sound.

+1. Golf tee mod is just a tease compared to the PE.

In the driver's side access panel in the trunk there is a solenoid, just unplug it.

A new exhaust, just for a sound, is definitely not in the budget. If I had the extra money I would rather spend it on performance.

Some people have also opened up their exhausts to pull some of the sound dampening material. This with a Y pipe I have read sounds close to the PE. If you want the sound, this might be an alternate route.

Same here. The golf tee doesn't really bring that much. I got a used PE exhaust online.
