"Who wants to go fast?" ..."I wanna go fast"

Was able to make it out for some runs this weekend.

Previous best run (without 103 octane on 1.1v High) was a 12.637 @ 113.23
this run was done with upper 50's and less humidity if i recall.

As before: 135, JB3 1.22, 103 Octane, half an intake, half an exhaust
(K&N highflow drop in with Riss scoops, CP-E midpipes)
STOCK rubber/wheels, DP's, Airbox, muffler

Todays info:

Partly Sunny Mid 70's, 38% humidity (first run i think was 71, second run 75, third run was approx 77) All runs done on map 8

Map 8 had a little over 1 day of adaption to 98 octane. 104 was added and off to the track. My biggest concern TRACTION. I've always been the most curious what the limit is for the stock RFTs.

Pass 1:

All traction control off, DS mode, brake boost somewhere between 1,000 and 1,600.

Light light,... Hi map 8 how are you!? Wheels spun some, backed off, car shifts from 1st to 2nd at 4,000ish rpms. But then.... then...well, the spinning stopped and the car puuuullled. Ticket is handed over. 12.738. 12.738? Damn, slower than last fall. Wait..mph... 118.81.

118.81! Ok it;s deffinately got some power

Run 1 STATS:
12.738 @ 118.81 with a 2.300 60'

How they hell can this car get out of the hole without spinning too much, or babying it too much and short shifting...??
HEY HOTROD, thanks for all of your testing! Here comes pass 2.

Pass 2

All traction control off, brake boost somewhere between 1,000 and 1,600,
2ND GEAR LAUNCH and trying short shifting 3rd to 4th

Light light... woooOOOSHH It hooked! The car was pullin...
2nd to 3rd it was screaming. 3rd gear comes up, let's try short shifting to 4th
Well, Well, the engine was quicker than the eye, cause as the paddle was being pulled, the car shifted into 4th, as the paddle was being let go, M5 came up on the dash 3rd-5th, I can't belive it. Someone had to be a first right. Let's look at this ticket. 12.307 2nd gear launch and shifting from 3rd to 5th??? mph...117.61 went down, but still way higher than previous 113.

Run 2 STATS:
12.307 @ 117.61 with 2.040 60' ... remember, 2nd gear launch

Last run, determined not to touch the paddles again
However, that 2nd gear launch got out much better.

Pass 3 & Final
All traction control off, brake boost somewhere between 1,500 and 2,100, got greedy, 2ND GEAR LAUNCH

Light, light, and some spin again, not as much, but a little. However, 2nd gear ran strong into 3rd, 3rd into 4th.

Result... 119mph! Slower 60' and 1/4, but trapped @ 119.78

Run 3 STATS
12.355 @ 119.78 with a 2.114 60' (damn, if that would've stayed at 2.0)

Overall, very happy. A best of 12.307 and a 119mph trap is an ok day.

In conclusion, I think it's safe to say that a 12.2 is POSSIBLE on stock RFT's but i'm pretty sure THAT would be the limit.

Terry...freaking awesome man. One hell of a tune.

Nice times! Sticky tires and you'd be hammering on 11s.

I think the trap speed is the most impressive stat! Great job.

That is some great runs. They really are little beasts with a lot of potential.

Step with the paddles is pretty fun. I love how both paddles go forwards and backwards. It makes gear selection while turing the wheel far easier than a left/right paddle arrangment.
