Bulletin has gone out. Part number 82 11 0 038 891. Stock is somewhat limited for now. Here are some images and details:
  • Made from “Weathershield” high-performance fabric.
  • Compact fiber – will store using 25-50% less space than conventional car cover fabrics.
  • Weatherproof – this fabric sheds water as soon as it hits the cover.
  • Superior Dry Time – because the fiber sheds water, “Weathershield” has only a 2% absorption factor compared to over 40% absorption by standard fabrics. A quick shake and the cover is ready to be stored dry.
  • Breathable – no buildup of condensation is held on the paint surface.
  • Protects against dirt, dust, environmental influences and scratches.
  • Durable – solution-dyed material with built-in UV inhibitors, including an added UV inhibitor for years of protection from the harsh sun.
  • Easy care – this fabric can be washed in your home washer and dryer, unlike other car cover fabrics.
  • Convenient sewn-in storage bag for protection.
  • Helps to maintain the value of the car.
  • Original BMW Accessories are warranted for the New Vehicle Limited Warranty period (4 Years/50,000 miles) when the installation occurs before the first delivery of a new vehicle. If the Original BMW Accessories installation occurs after the first delivery, the accessory will be warranted for the balance of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty period or two years and unlimited mileage from the date of installation, whichever is greater.

I want mine to come apart in pieces like the original strip tease!
...all joking aside I'm glad they did this. My BSM is hard to keep pristine I was about to spring for the felt-lined version via my AD....

Cool for the garage/driveway but way too many Ms - to the point of almost being obnoxious - for public use, in my opinion.

Well some git hit my 1M whilst under the standard 1st silver cover. Perhaps the black one will make it more VISIBLE!

Plus it's the same colour as the car itself. Win win.

Can you guys comment on the material, especially the inner part? Is it anything like the Covercraft FormFit (IMO the best indoor car cover on the market)?

Manor exit in Pacifica: JB e92 with black rims going into shell gas station.
Space gray e92 with mtech rear and diffuser, mtech front, slightly blue angel eyes, and silver rims heading towards SF.
And on Powell:

Maybe I'm different... Or am in a bad neighborhood but I really wanted my car cover to look as bland as possible. "powered by m" might call some bad attention/lead to bad behavior. I got a good anonymous looking custom car cover online made from the NOAH fabric. We'll see if it worked when I get back to Boston from my honeymoon.

Way too flashy for public display. Just begging for some drunk moron or degenerate juvenile to lift it and key the car.

Why is there a cutout around the license plate? Kinda defeats the purpose of the car cover if weather can get in...

How easy was it to put on?
I don't have a garage right now (being built next year) and I'd want to cover it every night, just hope its easy to take on and off.
