"Stock" Dyno

Hey guys,

So I went down to DynoSpot Racing in San Jose yesterday and with the help of Dick and Lawrence I got my car on the Dyno. Now I wouldn't say the car is stock, but I don't have any tune on it. You can see my full list of mods by clicking into my garage (it's a long list so I don't really want to put it here).

Overall conditions were pretty good:

About 70 *F
30.33 in-Hg
Humidity: 31-33%

This was all done on 91 oct with only one kinda small fan upfront (I wish they would have had at least two of them). Anyway, here's the graph:

Looks about right from what other 135i has done. I should try at DSR. When i did it at the place in Concord i got 330whp and 350 wheel torque at about 55*F with JB2 and BMS intake. How much did Dick charge you?

It was $125, which was a bit more than I wanted to pay. O well, they seemed to know what they were doing, so I'd do it again. It would have been $100 if I didn't get the air/fuel.

So technically if you had been running 93 octane, you would have higher numbers, right?

Another "Stock" Dyno (exhaust only)

I got a nail in my tire a a couple weeks ago and the shop had a DynoJet, so I ponied up the $$ for 2 runs. The weather was nice, probably 70-75 and I would assume less than 50% humidity.

Shell 93 octane "V Power" in the tank.

BMW performance exhaust is the only mod and 19,500 miles on the odometer.

Yeah, should be higher with a higher octane. I'm actually thinking about going back with 100 in the tank to see what the difference would be.

Good numbers Texas. I wonder if it's the 93 that made that difference or if it's just the fact that it's a different dyno.

Also, if you get a chance do you think you could PM me the raw files. I'd like to plot them on the same graph as mine, so I can better see the difference.

They're both DynoJets, so they should be close. So many factors can vary the results, but it was most likely the 93 octane and the big A$$ fan in front of my car.

I'll send them late tomorrow or the next day. They're on my work PC. No Windows in my house.

Its very close to stock.
He's got an intake and exhaust.
Probably giving him another 10whp.

325 * .85 = 276, so we can figure you're making about 325 hp out of the motor.
Very nice

You are right....he should be making ~280-300 minimum with the catless DP's. I made 320rwhp with Catless DP's and a SSTT. The temp and humidity were much hotter as well (89F-93F, 40-45% humidity)
