$3500 budget, what would you do...
I will be receiving my 2008 135i in a week or so from delivery(bought in different state).
It is completely stock, but i want to give it some extra power. I have $3500 for parts, what would you do? Its DD so nothing that hampers practicality of daily driving. i have spent prob the past 3-5 days just reading through all the forums, but i can not say i have any better idea as i did before. There is so many opinions, and budgets. I want to try and get the most complete setup i can for that, and if need be upgrade pieces later if needed. Thanks. Cobb + Downpipe + catback exhaust + n55 mid + intake + charge pipe + bov + FMIC!
There you have a 400hp + car then go on esthetic mods, wheel, suspension, and a lot more lol

Whiteline rear subframe bushings, burger motorsports JB4, vrsf intercooler, BMS downpipes, koni shocks, and you would have about $1500 left towards wheels/tires.
Is e85 available in your area? |

1) JB4 w/ USB cable & Dual Cone Intakes combo special via Burgertuning.com - $599
2) 3" Cat-less downpipes via Burgertuning.com - $379 3) cp-e Blowoff Valve Kit with Meth Bung via Burgertuning.com - $550 4) VRSF Front Mount Intercooler w/ lower charge pipe via - http://www.vr-speed.com/vrsf-7-front...2-e90-e92.html - $479 5) KW V1 coil over suspension via http://www.topgearsolutions.com/kwcokitv1bmw1.html - $1,450 That's $3,500 total! Now your alternatives are tires (I recommend Michelin PSS) and an upgraded clutch. |

JB4 allows you to switch maps on the fly with steering wheel controls. 93 octane or 100 octane e85 mix, add or subtract 50+ wheel horsepower in seconds.
These cars love e85! |

I can hit target boost all day long with the stock charge pipe and diverter valves, not sure I would spend the money on a new charge pipe/bov unless you want a noisy bov

Might buy a spare set of plugs, coils, a water pump, and set enough aside to cover intake port cleaning.
Then I'd buy a tune, FMIC, downpipe, exhaust in that order.

Honestly, I can't tell much of a "seat of my pants" difference between 35% and 45-50%. I stick with map 5, never messed with the race map. |

N55 mids don't have secondary cats on them like the n54 mids do. They both have the same resonator, so you are just removing two cats improving flow so yes you could see a slight power increase.

Dackelone on here actually saw decrease in power at lower rpms when he installed n55 mids and he switched back to n54. For the price of n55 mids I would rather just get catless down pipes since that's the biggest restriction on our cars

+1 on getting a LSDiff first since you have a fairly big chunk of cash then dampers, rear subframe inserts or bushings, then I'd recommend a JB4 for some extra power. Then I would worry about cooling and exhaust and misc suspension upgrades. Better to put the power you have down to the ground properly.
