Turner Motorsport Aluminum BMW Pedals

I installed Turner Motorsport's aluminum pedals this weekend and I wanted to post the results for the 1er since I didn't find any and also include the instructions which Turner does not post online. I had one hitch I want people to be aware of.

Kit Contents:

8-32x1" Flathead Stainless Steel Screws (qty 6)
8-32 Nylock Nuts (qty 6)
small 3/32 allen key
Flathead stainless steel self tapping screws (qty 4)
Clutch Pedal and Brake pedal (qty 1 each)
Throttle pedal (qty 1)

(Ignore the SSK shaft, bearing, and clip)

Turner Instructions included with pedals:

Summarized Instructions:

Tools:

1/16" drill bit (recommend High Speed Steel or Cobalt) example: McMaster 3146A112
3/16" drill bit (recommend High Speed Steel or Cobalt) example: McMaster 28765A19
Power Drill (12V Ryobi brushed worked for me)
#2 Phillips Screwdriver
Center Punch example: McMaster 3417A6
Small Hammer (for center punch)
Masking Tape
9 mm wrench (nuts are 11/32" = 8.7 mm)
3/32" allen key (small one included in kit)

Steps:
  1. Remove the rubber covers from the brake and clutch pedals
  2. Apply masking tape over the brake and clutch pedals
  3. Align the Turner aluminum pedal over the selected pedal in the desired position
  4. Mark the center of the holes to be drilled with the pedal cover still pressed against the pedal. Use the upper left and right holes, and the center bottom hole.
  5. Use the center punch to create a small divot in the surface. This keeps the drill bit from wandering.
  6. Use the 1/16" bit to drill three pilot holes NOTE: The clutch pedal is plastic and is much easier to drill. Have more patience with the brake pedal. Do not press too hard with the 1/16 bit or you'll snap it.
  7. Follow up with the 3/16" bit for the finish hole.
  8. Mount the pedal cover with the included hardware. NOTE: The brake pedal upper left screw and nut will not fit (see image below). Cut about 1/4"-1/3" from the included screw. Also use pliers to slightly bend the upper left part of the pedal toward the driver's seat until the nut's through-hole can be completely seen through the drilled hole.
  9. Cover the throttle pedal with masking tape
  10. Mark the desired holes to be drilled by holding and positioning the throttle pedal.
  11. Use a center punch as before on the brake and clutch.
  12. Recommend laying down some paper towels to catch the metal shavings. They stick in the carpet fibers.
  13. Use the 1/16" bit to create pilot holes
  14. Run one of the self tapping screws into each hole to "pretap" the holes for the pedal.
  15. Now mount the trottle pedal with the screws. Do not over tighten the screws or you may strip the plastic out.
  16. Vacuum your carpet.
  17. Check the tightness of the screws after your first drive.

Brake pedal lever is in the way of the included screw and nut. Cut about 1/4" to 1/3" from the screw and bend the corner of the pedal toward to driver's seat slightly.

Final Result:
